Amazing Cyber Security!

Why a Cybersecurity Career Summit?

By 2015, US cybersecurity job openings were up 74% over the previous five years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

ISACA projected that the demand for cybersecurity talent would rise to 6MM this year, with a projected shortfall of nearly 2 million security professionals. Yet information security analysts are expected to see job growth of 28% between 2016-2026 (much faster than average), earning an average of $98,350/yr.

The number of cybersecurity training programs grew only 33% between 2013 - 2017 with graduates increasing by 40%, while the number of jobs requiring cybersecurity skills grew 94%, according to a report released on June 25, 2019 by workforce analysis firm Burning Glass Technologies.

So, what does that mean to you?

We have a Talent Shortage!

In her 2019 Cybersecurity Job Outlook, Heather Stratford-Geibel pointed out that "the cybersecurity talent shortage is at a 12 year high [and] has been forecast for the last decade but is increasing in scope and severity...  especially concerning for employers."

In order to survive the employee shortage... the best approach will be to ... develop the skill profiles in desirable candidates, and look to women, millennials, and those traditionally overlooked but with the ability to learn and grow."

Help Wanted! Cyber Security Specialist Needed!

"Being the best in the world is seriously underrated.
Compromise is the enemy of that. So is fear.
So is the desire to fit in or be average.”
-Seth Godin
